Биография

Chief Assistant Professor Dr. Teofan Hristov Kuyumdzhiev was born in 1962 in Sofia. He graduated from the "First Language Gymnasium" in Varna with English as a major. In 1989, he obtained a "Master of Medicine" degree from MU-Varna. He started working in the village of Madara as a district doctor and worked there in the period October 1989 - October 1990. Then he started working in the Surgical Department - Municipal Hospital - town of N. Pazar and worked there until 2002, and from 1990 to 1996 he specialized in "Abdominal Surgery", a specialty that he defended at the end of 1996. From March 2002 to April 2004, he worked at the DCC - "Equita" - in a surgical office. From 2004 to 2014, he worked as a doctor on a probe in the Persian Gulf and Angola.

Since January 2016, he has been working in the Department of "Disaster Medicine and Marine Medicine". He has participated in round tables of the National Institute of Public Health, seminars on anti-terrorism - MU-"Paraskev Stoyanov", participation with posters of the International Medical Association Bulgaria (IMAB) and the annual editions of the MU-Varna Festivals - "Sea, Health and Beauty". He has published articles in the "Varna Medical Forum" and the magazine "Aviation, Marine and Space Medicine". He is a co-author of the chapter of the textbook "Marine Medicine". His interests are in the field of "Marine Medicine" and the training of students of the specialty "Medicine" in the application of the basic medical standards of the specialty "Emergency Medicine".

In January 2021, Dr. Kuyumdzhiev obtained the ONS "Doctor" in the specialty "Disaster Medicine" with a dissertation on the topic "Adapted techniques for providing pre-medical aid in incidents with a large number of victims". From 9.11.21 he was selected through a competition for "Chief Assistant" at the same department.
