The academic year for international students at MU-Varna was opened
The new academic year for the students in the English Language Training Programmes in specialties of "Medicine" and "Dental Medicine at Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov" - Varna was officially opened on September 27. Over 350 first-year students from nearly 50 countries were welcomed according to the old Bulgarian tradition with "bread and salt".
On behalf of the Rector of MU-Varna, Prof. Dr. Svetoslav Georgiev, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs Prof. Dr. Albena Kerekovska welcomed the new students. The first-year students were congratulated for their choice to join the academic community of MU-Varna. "Here we will train you in a modern and high-tech environment and you will receive an education that meets European and world standards," says the Rector's address to foreign students.
In the current academic year, the most numerous freshmen are from Germany, Great Britain and India. On the first day of study, the new students were welcomed by their colleagues from higher courses, who shared their impressions of the multinational and cultural environment at the University, as well as of Varna as a seaside city.
Students from Medical University-Varna participated in the festive program for the opening of the academic year. Dancers from the student dance troupe "Diana" showed the freshmen the steps of the Bulgarian "Pravo Horo" and for the finale of the celebration, all students, lecturers and guests joined in the dance.
