The 40th Anniversary of the Museum of the History of Medicine Will Be Celebrated on 25 April

The 40th anniversary of the Museum of the History of Medicine will be celebrated on 25 April (Friday) at 11 a.m. in the courtyard of the first charity hospital in Bulgaria, at 7 Paraskeva Nikolaou Str. The idea of establishing a museum arose in 1969 among the Varna medical community during the celebration of the centennial anniversary of the foundation of the charity hospital, built with the funds of the Varna resident Paraskeva Nikolaou. The idea grew into a decision of the Executive Committee of the Varna Regional Council in 1978. The hospital was designated as the site of the new museum. The complex consisting of a Renaissance building and a chapel were restored and declared a cultural monument in 1982 by the National Institute for Monuments of Culture.
