The event is organised by the National Association of Practical Dietetics and Integrative Medicine (NAPDIM) and MU-Varna. The main topic of the symposium is “Diet Therapy for Digestive System Diseases, Part I", and it is the only one of its kind in Bulgaria with dietetics practicums focused on working with patients with digestive disorders. The forum's format opens up the opportunity to expand expertise in nutrition and dietetics beyond the traditional boundaries of integrative medicine.
The event programme consists of five scientific sessions and eight practicums conducted by experts in various fields, including nutrition and dietetics, gastroenterology and hepatology, abdominal surgery, endocrinology, general medicine, psychiatry, psychology, etc. Prominent lecturers are going to share their experience in the field of digestive system diseases, precise diagnostics, and better quality of life practices.
The event is to be held in the city of Varna, at Sts. Constantine and Helena Resort, for three days, during which the lecturers will share:
- proven clinical practices, challenges, case studies, and new developments in the management of malnutrition in gastrointestinal diseases;
- more on the opportunities offered by the multidisciplinary approach in the care of comorbid patients with chronic liver, pancreas, and intestinal diseases;
- practical skills for interpreting current laboratory markers in dyspepsia;
- ew developments in the therapeutic approach to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and an overview of psychosomatics and the digestive tract.
The event is aimed at medical professionals who encounter patients with digestive disorders in the course of their work:
general practitioners, nutritionists and dieticians, internists and profiled specialists:
