On June 9, 2026 (Tuesday) at 2:30 p.m. in the Vladimir Ivanov hall of the St. Marina University Hospital will be held a public lecture by Assoc. Prof. Radina Dimitrova, MD, PhD - “Drug-Induced Immune-Mediated Endocrinopathies"
The lecture focuses on current knowledge regarding immune-mediated endocrinopathies associated with immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. Pathogenetic mechanisms, clinical manifestations, diagnostic strategies, and treatment approaches for endocrine complications, including hypophysitis, thyroid dysfunction, diabetes mellitus, and adrenal insufficiency, will be discussed. Special emphasis will be placed on the importance of early recognition and a multidisciplinary approach in the management and follow-up of these patients.
Master's Degree in Medicine from the Medical University of Varna in 2010. She subsequently completed her specialty training in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases and has developed an active clinical, research, and teaching career in the field of endocrinology.
In 2016, she was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the Second Department of Internal Medicine, Medical University of Varna. She obtained her specialty qualification in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases in 2018. Four years later, following the successful defense of her doctoral thesis entitled “Comparative Evaluation of Metabolic Markers in the Assessment of Bone Health in Postmenopausal Women", she was awarded the PhD degree in Endocrinology. In the same year (2022), after a competitive selection process, she was promoted to the academic position of Chief Assistant Professor. In 2025, she was elected Associate Professor at the same department.
Her scientific interests focus on obesity and metabolic syndrome, thyroid diseases, disorders of calcium-phosphate metabolism and bone health, as well as rare endocrine disorders. She is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications and actively participates in national and international congresses and scientific meetings.
Currently, Assoc. Prof. Dimitrova is a faculty member of the Department of Endocrinology at the Medical University of Varna and works at the Clinic of Endocrinology of St. Marina University Hospital, Varna.
