A seminar entitled “Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Treatment and Public Health Programmes Aimed at the Prevention of Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases" is organised by MU–Varna from 10 to 12 June 2026, with Dr. Tallys Feldens from Sant' Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa (Italy) as the lead lecturer. The event takes place from 10 to 12 June at the building of Regional Health Inspectorate–Varna, in Panorama 2 Hall.
The training is being conducted under the project of MU–Varna “Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM)" and is targeted at young researchers and students who wish to acquire practical knowledge for the evaluation of health programmes and treatment in chronic non-communicable diseases.
The course covers topics such as Evaluation of Health Outcomes and Effectiveness, Cost Analysis and Health Economics, Indicators such as DALY, QALY and YLL, Cost Effectiveness Modelling and Evaluation, Health Equality Evaluation, and Use of Statistical Software R.
The programme combines theory and practical exercises, involving analyses of real-world examples, decision-tree exercises, and applications of health-economic methods. The seminar aims to develop evidence-based decision-making skills in the field of public health and chronic disease management.
