The training of the dental medicine students at the Department of Pediatric Dental Medicine is conducted from 2nd to 6th year both in the Bulgarian and the English programmes of training.
The discipline "Propedeutics of pediatric dental medicine" is studied in the 4th and 5th semester with a total of 60 academic hours (30 lectures and 30 seminars). After a successful practical and theoretical semester examination in the 3rd academic year of their studies, the students continue with the subject "Clinical pediatric dental medicine" in the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th semester with a total of 240 academic hours (60 lectures and 180 seminars). After a successful practical and theoretical examination in the 5th year, the students do their state internship in the discipline Clinical pediatric dental medicine which lasts 20 days and finishes with a state examination.
The discipline "Dental prophylaxis" is studied in the 6th and 7th semester with a total of 60 academic hours (30 lectures and 30 seminars). The training in the subject finishes with a practical and theoretical examination in the 4th year
