Dr. Elitsa Dzhongova graduated as a doctor of Dental medicine at the Faculty of
Dental Medicine, Medical University of Plovdiv in 2007 with excellent results.
Since 2008, she has been enrolled as a full-time assistant at the Department of Oral
and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 2009, she was enrolled as a resident, and 2012, she
acquired a specialty in Oral Surgery. From 2012-2014 and from 2016 until now she
is a course supervisor for 5th year students „Dental Medicine“ Bulgarian-language
training. From 2016, she was an administrative assistant at the Department of Oral
and Maxillofacial Surgery and held this position until the end of 2019. In 2017 she
was enrolled, and in 2020 she defended her dissertation on the topic
"Vestibuloplasty with xenogeneic dermal graft in completely edentulous lower
Jaw“ and received the educational and scientific degree „Doctor“ in the scientific
specialty „Surgical Dentistry“. Since 2019, she has been enrolled as a resident, and
in 2022 she received the specialty „Dental Implantology". In 2021, she acquired the
academic position of „Chief Assistant Professor" in the Department of Oral
Surgery.
She has interests and works in the field of oral surgery and implantology,
as well as prosthetics with removable and non-removable prostheses on implants.
Dr. Dzhongova participate in teaching process in the following disciplines:,,
Propedeutics of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery" and ,, Clinic Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery", as well as state internship of intern doctors in the discipline
„Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery“, Bulgarian and English language training.
She also participate in the teaching process of post- graduate students in the „Oral
Surgery“. She has been working as a dentist/ oral surgeon in the University Medical
and Dental Center (UMDC) at the Faculty of Dentistry of MU – Varna since its
opening until now.
Dr. Dzhongova has over 20 publications in scientific journals, reports at international forums and national forums with international participation.
