Born on 25.12.1954 in Varna. Graduated from the Medical University of Medicine in Varna in 1980. Since the same year he has been an assistant at the Clinic of Gastroenterology and Hematology, and since 1981 - at the Clinic of Nephrology and Dialysis. Acquired specialties: internal medicine (1985); nephrology (1988) and health management (2002). Habilitation as an associate professor (2004). In 1995 he defended his dissertation on the topic "Chronic hemodialysis and human recombinant erythropoietin - some effects on the body, free radical processes, the antioxidant system and electrolytes in erythrocytes".
He has over 110 publications and 40 participations in scientific congresses. The main scientific developments are in the field of nephrology, hemodialysis, plasmapheresis and history of medicine.
