Dr. Nikolay Borisov Kalvachev was born in 1996 in Varna, Bulgaria. He graduated with honors from the First Language High School in Varna in 2015, majoring in English. In 2021, he earned his medical degree from the Medical University of Varna. During his studies, he was actively involved in teaching as a demonstrator and prepared numerous scientific presentations and publications in both Bulgarian and English. He was awarded two first-place and one second-place prizes at scientific symposia in Varna and Sofia.
He participated in the Erasmus+ European mobility program at the “Banacha" University Hospital in Wrocław, Poland, focusing on cardiology and endovascular treatment. In 2021, he worked at the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) – Varna and in the Emergency Department of the General Hospital in Dobrich. Since 2022, he has been working at the First Cardiology Clinic with an Intensive Cardiology Unit (ICU) at University Hospital "St. Marina" – Varna.
In 2023, he was appointed as a full-time assistant at the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Medicine and is currently specializing in Cardiology. He is fluent in English, German, and Russian.
