Born on March 24, 1958, in Varna. Graduated in Medicine from the Medical University of Sofia in 1982. Assistant in Rheumatology at the Department of Internal Medicine since 1989. Specialties acquired: Internal Medicine in 1989; Rheumatology in 1997. Over 45 publications in peer-reviewed specialized journals. Participated in more than 50 national and international congresses and conferences. In 2019, she defended her PhD thesis titled “Assessment of Clinical Activity of Rheumatoid Arthritis in Patients Treated with Biological Agents" and was awarded the academic degree “Doctor of Medicine." In September 2020, she was appointed as Associate Professor. From December 2019 to March 2025, she served as the Head of the Rheumatology Unit at the First Department of Internal Medicine. From November 2020 to November 2023, she was Head of the Clinic of Rheumatology at University Hospital “St. Marina." She developed and implemented a registry for patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis treated with biological medications in an outpatient setting. She holds qualifications in musculoskeletal ultrasound diagnostics.
Her main scientific interests include: Reactive arthritis – etiopathogenesis and treatment; Rheumatoid arthritis – treatment with NSAIDs, synthetic and biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs, disease activity and prognosis. Reviewer for national and international rheumatology journals.
Over 50 publications in specialized medical journals; participation in over 45 congresses and conferences. Major scientific contributions in the fields of: Reactive arthritis – etiopathogenesis and treatment; Rheumatoid arthritis – treatment with NSAIDs, DMARDs, and biological agents.
