Milena Salbashyan graduated medicine at the Medical University of Varna (1999). In 2015, after successfully passing a competition, she was appointed to the position of "Assistant professor" in the Department of "Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics". In 2023, she defended her dissertation on the topic: "Pharmacological study of the behavioral effects of biologiclly active substances of plant origin in experimental animal models of depression". Since July 2023, she has held the academic position of "Chief Assistant Professor". She participates in the Bulgarian-language and English-language training in the disciplines "Pharmacology" and "Clinical Pharmacology" for students of the specialty "Medicine" and "Pharmacology" for students of the specialty "Dental Medicine". Her scientific research is in the field of experimental pharmacological studies of psychopharmacological and organoprotective effects of biologically active substances of plant origin in models of depression, ovariectomy, bulbectomy, liver toxicity, inflammation and metabolic syndrome. Dr. Salbashyan is a member of the scientific group "Gastro-entero-hepatoprotection and Therapy" at the Research Institute at MU-Varna. She is a member of the Bulgarian Medical Union; Bulgarian Society of Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics; European Association for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
