Dr. Stoyan Ivanov Ivanov, MD, graduated from high school in the city of Sliven. He entered the Medical University of Sofia as a medical student (2003 – 2009). After graduation, he began specializing in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the St. Anna Hospital in Varna AD. He obtained a specialty in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2015, and since 2017 he has been elected for honorary assistant at the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Medical University of Varna. In 2017, he successfully defended his master's degree in Public Administration with a specialization in "Health Management". In 2020, Dr. Ivanov successfully defended his dissertation on the topic: "Minimally invasive surgery for dislocated intraarticular calcaneal fractures", introducing an innovative approach to the treatment of calcaneal fractures. Since 2021, he has been regularly assistant at the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the Varna Medical University. He holds certificates for: arthroscopy, joint replacement, joint ultrasound in children using the Graf method, microvascular and reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, pelvic and acetabular surgery. Dr. Ivanov conducts a number of courses in the country and abroad (France, Switzerland, Austria, Portugal, Greece) to improve his qualifications, and in 2019 he completed a three-month specialization at the AO Research Institute Davos, Switzerland. An active participant with reports at numerous scientific forums, awarded with awards, such as in 2018 he was awarded the prize for "Young Doctor of the Year" by the Bulgarian Medical Union- Varna. The main professional areas of Dr. Stoyan Ivanov are in the field of large joint replacement, pelvic and acetabular surgery, upper and lower limb traumatology, knee arthroscopy, and reconstructive surgery.
