The 6th International Partnerships Forum of MU – Varna was successfully finished
On 8 October 2021, the Sixth International Partnerships Forum of MU – Varna was held in the framework of the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the University's foundation. The jubilee edition was entitled "60 Years of Building Synergies: Education, Innovation and Partnerships". Around 90 guests, members of the academic staff and students took part, of whom 38 partners from international institutions and bearers of the title "doctor honoris causa" of MU – Varna. Representatives from Italy, Switzerland, Russia, Ukraine, the USA, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Belgium, Greece and others were among the foreign participants. See more

The XVII International Congress of Colorectal Surgery will be held online on 10th October
The XVIIth International Congress of Colorectal Surgery will be held online on 10th October 2021 at 8:00. Taking
into consideration the dynamically changing international situation
related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the congress will be held for the
first time in an innovative form, unique for Bulgaria and the world -
offline, on-demand. The forum is one
of the events that will be dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the
foundation of Varna Medical University and the 35th anniversary of the

establishment of the first medical higher education institution in
north-eastern Bulgaria – Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev
Stoyanov" – Varna was celebrated with exciting festive events on 1 and
2 October.

Dear colleagues, Dear students, Today Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov" – Varna celebrates the 60th anniversary of its establishment! Happy Holiday! During
its 60-year history, MU – Varna has established itself as one of the
most prestigious higher education institutions in Bulgaria – a major
pillar of medical education and health sciences in the country. I am
proud that today 6 280 students are being trained at four Faculties,
one College and three Affiliates in 28 Programmes. More than 34 000
medical and dental doctors, pharmacists and health professionals have
graduated from MU – Varna, and amongst them, there are bright
personalities who stand out with their impressive professional careers

 Jubilee Exhibition “60 Years of Medical University – Varna” Opens on 21 August
A jubilee exhibition on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov" – Varna is to be opened on the alley next to the Sundial in the Sea Garden of Varna. The photos display the academic, scientific, cultural and sports life at the University from its establishment till today.

The Seventh Online Festival “Sea and Health” Is Underway
 The Seventh Festival "Sea and Health", which for the second year in a row is held online, was launched on 21 May. Organiser of the event is the Faculty of Public Health at MU – Varna. The traditional scientific conference marked the beginning of this year's festival activities. 39 reports were presented by 67 students from the programmes of Medicine and Health Management, and each presenter was awarded with a certificate of participation.

Diplomas for Academic Positions and Acquired Scientific Degrees Were Awarded at a Solemn Academic Council Meeting
 Diplomas for academic positions and acquired scientific degrees for the first half of the year were awarded at a solemn Academic Council meeting at MU - Varna on 20 May.
The Rector Prof. Dr. Valentin Ignatov awarded the diplomas at an official ceremony at the First Auditorium of the University in the presence of the members of the academic management and academic board.

Guest Lecturer from Italy Presented a Lecture within TranStem Project and the 31st Edition of Biomedical Forum
 The Cardiac Transplantation in the Heart of the Mediterranean Sea initiative took place on 19 May 2021 at 18:00. The event was held within the framework of TranStem project and Biomedical Forum 31 (2020 – 2021), organised by Medical University – Varna and the Bulgarian Society for Cell Biology. Guest lecturer was Dr. Sergio Sciacca, Coordinator of the Heart Transplant and Ventricular Assist Devices Programs at the Mediterranean Institute for Transplants and Advanced Therapies in Palermo, Italy. He outlined the outcomes obtained for 15 years of development and activities within the Heart Transplant Program at the Mediterranean Institute for Transplants and Advanced Therapies.
