The Department of Foreign Language Teaching, Communication and Sports is a successor of the Department of Foreign Languages, founded in 1962. Since its establishment the Department has contributed to the modern European vision of the University. We provide language teaching in Medical Latin, Bulgarian, English, and German to students from the four faculties and the Medical College in Varna. The Department organizes preparatory courses in Bulgarian and English to foreign and postgraduate students.
The Department of Foreign Language Teaching, Communications and Sport at MU - Varna is entirely practice-oriented to the specific professional needs of the students from the specialties of Medicine, Dental medicine, Pharmacy, Midwifery, Nursing, etc. The most modern means and methods for foreign language teaching to develop language competence skills, the latest achievements in international theory and practice, as well as specialized language software and up-to-date teaching materials are applied in the process of teaching.

THE DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING,
COMMUNICATION AND SPORTS
offers to all students and academic staff of MU-Varna the possibility to learn and to improve foreign languages. It offers a wide range of different language courses:
- Spanish: levels A1-А2, В1-В2
- German: levels A1-А2, В1-В2
- Russian: levels A1-А2, В1-В2
- Survival Czech: levels A1-A2
- General Bulgarian language: B1-B2.
- Bulgarian for healthcare specialists
The duration of each language course is from 90 to 120 contact hours. Upon completion of each course, a certificate of training is issued.
