Биография

Maria Radanova graduated in Molecular Biology with a specialization in Clinical Chemistry from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Sofia in 1999. In 2011, at the Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov", she defended her dissertation for the educational and scientific degree "Doctor" on the topic: "Study of molecular effects of C1q inhibition in patients with lupus nephritis". She obtained her specialty in Biochemistry in 2015. Since 2016, she has held the academic position of Associate Professor in Molecular Biology, and since 2024, the academic position of Professor in Biochemistry. Maria Radanova's areas of professional interest include molecular biology, immunology and oncology. Her scientific research focuses on studying the processes regulating neoplastic transformation of cells, leading to tumorigenesis and progression of tumors, as well as the mechanisms of disruption of immune tolerance to self-antigens, leading to the development of autoimmune diseases. She is the scientific supervisor of three doctoral students who have successfully defended their dissertations and one current doctoral student. She has led six projects, two of which involve international collaboration.
