Viliana Gugleva graduated with a Master's degree in "Pharmacy" from Medical University of Sofia in 2011. During her studies, she carried out an additional specialization - industrial pharmacy. Since 2012 she has been working as Assistant Professor in the Department of "Pharmaceutical Sciences". In 2017 she acquired a specialty in "Drug Technology with Biopharmacy" according to the post-graduate education at Medical University of Varna. In 2021 Viliana Gugleva defended PhD in Pharmaceutical technology and biopharmacy at Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical University of Sofia. From November 2021, she has been Chief Assistant Professor at the Department of "Pharmaceutical Technologies", and from December 2024 - Associate Professor of "Technology of dosage forms and biopharmacy". Her scientific interests are focused on nano-sized carriers, vesicular systems, in situ gel-forming dosage forms. She has acquired additional qualification of “Safety assessment of cosmetic products" from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". She speaks English, German and Russian.
Participated in 4 research projects, project leader of one. Her scientific publications have over 300 citations in indexed journals (h-index 9 Scopus). Author of published monograph “Modern trends and perspectives in the design of vesicular systems. Focus on niosomes". She is a reviewer of scientific publications for Elsevier, Springer Nature, MDPI, etc. Co-author of 5 student textbooks on "Technology of dosage forms and biopharmacy".
