The departmental council includes all members of the academic (departmental) staff.
The Department Council is tasked with adjudicating matters pertaining to the revision of curricula, electing the departmental head, and other operational activities delineated within the institutional governance documentation.
Jurisdictions:
1. Develops and submits to the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Pharmacy plans and programs related to the organization of educational and research activities.
2. Proposes to the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Pharmacy the promotion of non-habilitated lecturers.
3. Conducts internal defenses of doctoral theses and makes a proposal for the disclosure of procedures for the defense of dissertations.
4. Makes a proposal to the Faculty Council for announcing competitions for assistants, associate professors and professors, part-time lecturers.
5. Organizes the educational activities in the department.
6. Discusses issues related to the material base of the department and makes proposals for its modernization to the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
7. Makes proposals to the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Academic Council of the Medical University - Varna for regular doctoral studies on previously approved topics.
8. Every quarter, reviews the work of regular doctoral students and doctoral students in independent preparation.
9. At least once a year, analyzes the scientific activity of the department and the educational and scientific sectors.
10. At least twice a year, analyzes the examination sessions and discusses the methodology for conducting semester and state exams.
11. Upon the proposal of the Department Council, habilitated lecturers from other departments and habilitated lecturers from accredited medical structures may be involved in the examination committees for the state exam.
12. At least once a year, analyzes the work of the specialists in the department and prepares a report, which is submitted to the Vice-Rector for Career Development, Scientific Research and SDO.
