Currently at UMHAT "Saint Marina", 313 hospital beds are available for patients with confirmed or suspected coronavirus infection (including persons under 18 years of age), 59 of them – for intensive care treatment of coronavirus patients. Between 26 April - 02 May, 741 patients passed through the emergency centres of the infectious diseases clinics and the emergency centres of UMHAT "Saint Marina", 223 of them – confirmed and possible and probable coronavirus cases.
368 patients were treated at the COVID structures over the period, 47 of them – coming from other districts. 45 patients were treated at intensive care units. 150 coronavirus patients have recovered over the last week, and the number of the deceased is 31. Along with the treatment of coronavirus patients the hospital provides emergency medical care in line with the profiles of the other clinical structures to all patients with other diseases.
1393 patients passed through the COVID departments of the medical institution in April. 12 clinics at the medical institution have been restructured into COVID departments to meet the challenges resulting from the COVID – 19 crisis. Besides the treatment of coronavirus patients with confirmed or suspected COVID – 19 infection, the hospital provides emergency medical and oncological care to all patients in accordance with the profile of the diseases.
The hospital management will inform the citizens of Varna and the district on the real situation at the medical institution on a weekly basis.
