Framework Cooperation Agreement Signed between MU-Varna and the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network (USERN)


The Rector of MU-Varna Prof. Dr. Dimitar Raykov and the President of the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network (USERN) Prof. Tommaso Dorigo signed a five-year Framework Cooperation Agreement. The document promotes joint research and development activities in support of authentic research and education. The parties have committed themselves to the advancement of science for non-military purposes and the public good, as well as to the development of scientific exchange targeted at upholding the highest standards of research. 



The Framework Agreement was signed in the presence of Prof. Dr. Violeta Yotova – Vice–Rector for Science and Research , Prof. Dr. Mario Milkov – Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Anton Tonchev – Director of the Research Institute at MU-Varna, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Natalia Usheva – Deputy Chair of the Management Board of the project "Medical University–Varna: Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM)", and Ms Elitsa Drenska – member of the Management Board of the same project.

MU-Varna and USERN will participate in joint research projects, collaborate in the implementation, consultation and monitoring of skills and knowledge assessment programmes in science, and interact to improve the quality of research through the exchange of information, scientific papers and other research materials. 


By signing this Agreement, MU-Varna has joined USERN – a network established in 2016 with the aim of creating universally validated resources, supporting scientific exchange and research designated to improve human life. The Advisory Board of the organization comprises more than 600 of the world's top scientists working in 21 scientific fields, among them twenty Nobel Prize winners and two Abel laureates.

The visit of Prof. Tommaso Dorigo was performed within the framework of the project BG-RRP-2.004-0009-C02 Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM), funded by the European Union–NextGenerationEU. ​
