The President of the Bulgarian Respiratory Society Assoc.
Prof. Dr. Diana Petkova presented the HONORARY SIGN FOR SPECIAL MERITS OF BRS to
the Rector of MU-Varna Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov. The prize, awarded for the
first time in the 115-year history of the Society, was established on the
occasion of the 55th Anniversary of the establishment of the University, for its
contribution and partnership in training and qualification of doctors-pulmonologists.
The impressive
work of art, created by the sculptor Prof. Venelin Bozhidarov, was awarded to
MU-Varna for the support in conducting Summer School of Lung Diseases, Courses
for Young Pulmonologists, for supporting the significant scientific forums with
international participation, held under the auspices of the Rector. "I’d
like to express my gratitude to Prof. Krasimir Ivanov and the entire academic
community of MU-Varna for their support for the scientific forums of BRS. All
events in the field of pulmonary diseases were of great interest, resulting in significant
improvement of the qualification and practical skills of the participants",
said Assoc. Prof. Petkova.
The Bulgarian Respiratory Society is an organization with 115 years of history. It unites doctors and medical professionals involved in practical, research and teaching activities in the field of pulmonary diseases. An integral task among the objectives of BRS is training and qualification of medical doctors and health care professionals, aimed to enable them to meet the requirements of modern medicine and to be in line with the European standards for quality and competence.
