At the end of the competitive sailing season, the sailing team of MU-Varna won the first place in the First Inter-University Regatta "Academica". The competition, organized by Yacht Club "Cap. Georgi Georgiev - Port Varna", took place on 16 and 17 September in the aquatory of Varna Bay.
Within the two days of the competition and the five races, the competitors of MU-Varna, who navigated yacht "Hygia", won four first, and one second place, which brought to them the award of the Gold Cup class ORS B.

The team, consisting of Magdalena Bliznakova - Medicine, 4th year of study; Boyko Matev - Medicine, 3rd year of study; Dimitar Velev - Pharmacy, 3rd year of study; Bjarne Nietzsmann, Medicine, 3rd year of study, with skipper Angel Dipchikov, was awarded personally by the Minister of Youth and Sports Mr. Krasen Kralev.
