Golden award from the IX edition of BALKAN MEDICAL AWARDS 2024 was presented to Senior Nurse Mariya Georgieva, PhD, from the Second Clinic of Cardiology – Non-Invasive Department, at UMHAT “St. Marina"–Varna and a part-time lecturer at the Department of Health Care at Medical University “Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov"-Varna.
This prestigious award is under the category of Professional Recognition in Health Care. The event, during which the so-called Medical Oscars were awarded, was organised by Global Media Global Leaders and was held on 5 July in Sofia.
Ms. Mariya Georgieva was nominated by the Bulgarian Association of Health Care Professionals for her outstanding merits in the care of heart failure patients in Bulgaria and for her educational role in enhancing public awareness of this disease.
Moreover, the award is a recognition of the dedicated work of the health care professionals at UMHAT “St. Marina"–Varna, as well as for the high quality of academic and scientific activities at MU-Varna in the programme of Health Care.
Ms. Mariya Georgieva is one of the distinguished Bulgarian health specialists, along with prominent doctors such as Prof. Dr. Ivo Petrov, Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov etc., and she is the only one from the city of Varna and the entire Northeastern Bulgaria.
