Students from different nationalities expressed their creative aspirations at the concert "Magical University of Varna". For more than two hours the Varna medics were singing, dancing and showing their artistic skills to the audience, which was enchanted by the magic of Art in the overcrowded hall at the State Opera - Varna on 1st December.
The amazing spectacle, with Bulgarian folk dances and Indian dances, songs from Bulgaria, Italy, Russia, France, India and theatrical sketches, sparkеd stormy emotions and presented a fairy-tale of beauty.
The event was inspired by the celebration of the 5th anniversary of the emblematic "Diana" Student Dance Group at MU - Varna, which is an indispensable part of any major event at the Varna Medical University. It was created on 7th May 2014, initiated by the students Ivelin Iliev and Aleksandar Dzhabarov. Soon after that the students Radina Georgieva and Nadezhda Slavcheva joined them, and a choreographer of the newly formed troupe became Mrs. Diana Dimitrova, whose name was given to the formation, consisting of 30 students today.
The top sportspeople at MU-Varna received their well-deserved prizes during the event. The team awards were presented by the head of Training Sector Sports Mrs. Zhulieta Videnova. "Team of the Year" became the swimming team of MU-Varna. Earlier in the year, it won the championship at the National Universiade Varna 2019, prevailing over the National Sports Academy. It is also the gold medalist at the Varna Universiade, as well as at the Summer University Sports Games Kranevo 2019. The swimmers' coach is Stoyan Mihaylov.

Ekaterina Aleksandrova became the "Sportsperson of the Year" at MU-Varna. For the top winner - Katya, this has been an extremely successful year. After the bronze medal at the Varna Universiade with the team of MU-Varna, an awesome beach volleyball season ensued for her, winning two gold medals at the national tournaments, a victory at the International Tournament in Kranevo, and for the season finale - a silver medal at the Balkan Championship in Antalya (Turkey). A few days ago, together with the girls from the team of MU-Varna, she uncompromisingly won the first place at the Cup of 8th December Tournament. Her coach is Yuli Vasilev.
The second place was for the kickboxer Inna Ivanova, who won three categorical victories in 2019, which brought to her the gold at the National Kickboxing Championship and the National Universiade Varna 2019. Inna's coach is Georgi Vladimirov.
The third finalist is Arseniy Beketov. He was a representative of MU-Varna at the World Summer University Games in Naples (Italy). He is a republican student champion in 200m medley at the National Universiade Varna 2019. He also won the second place in 100m freestyle at the same competition. In 2019 he won first and third place at the Varna Universiade, and first and second place at the Summer University Games Kranevo 2019. Arseniy's coach is Stoyan Mihailov.
After awarding the prestigious prizes, the show was opened by the dancers of SDG "Diana" with the author's narrative dance by Diana Dimitrova – "Gergana", based on P. R. Slaveikov's poem "Izvorat na Belonogata" ("The Spring of the White-Legged Maiden"), which raised the audience on its feet, kicking off the concert part.
Brilliant were the performances of the students Yasen Korabov, Vanina Basarbolieva Nikola Kartelov, Ivelina Delcheva, Brito Perepadan, Damyana Ilieva, Atanas Kolev, Sezgin Alkov, Folk Dance School "Arni Momi i Momtsi" ("Beautiful Lassies and Laddies"), with the participation of international students, Infarct Theatre Troupe, and Indian Dance Formation "Varna DC".
The participants from MU-Varna fascinated the guests, and at the end of the concert everyone sang the song "Together", inviting to the stage the person, thanks to whom this concert was accomplished - Diana Dimitrova. Deeply moved, she thanked the management of the University and the team, which rendered help for the organization of the tremendous event. Just before the party confetti flew in the air, Diana addressed the participants with the words, "I am delighted that as long as there are young people like you, there will be Bulgaria!"
