Assist. Prof. Dr. Nevena Karadzhova
from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at MU - Varna was awarded
a special prize by the European Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
This is an award by the name of Prof. Dr. Helene Matras.
The prize was awarded during the third National
Congress of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, which was held from 26th
to 28th April in Varna, organized by the Society of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgeons in Bulgaria.
A jury, consisting of representatives
of several European countries, highly evaluated the presentation of Assist.
Prof. Dr. Karadzhova on "Intraoral Approach to Large Cysts of the Floor of
the Mouth" and awarded her with the honorary distinction. Dr. Karadzhova
was selected among a large number of participants from Bulgaria and abroad.
The award has been
established for representatives from Eastern and Central Europe. The grant can
be used for continuing education at the European Association.
Dr. Nevena Karadzhova acquired Master
Degree in Dental Medicine at MU-Varna in 2015. She was a part-time Assistant
Professor at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Faculty of
Dental Medicine at Medical University - Varna from 2015 to 2016. She has been a
full-time Assistant Professor at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
since 2016. She was also an intern at the Clinic of Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery at UMHAT "St. Marina" - Varna till 2017. Currently she works
at the University Dental Center.
Dr. Karadzhova said she was happy for
presenting Bulgaria with dignity and grateful for the high quality of the
education she had received at Medical University - Varna.
