In the current state of emergency due to the worldwide pandemic of COVID-19 in our country, plenty of volunteer initiatives have been launched, united by the desire to help. Such an initiative has also been conceived at the Varna Medical University on the idea of one of the hygienists Daniela Pavlova. She suggested to her superior the idea of making masks together with her colleagues, and that is how the cause "Together We Can Cope with It" was born.
"We wanted to join and support the charity campaign at UMHAT "St Marina" and to show our empathy to the first-line medics. We decided to make masks to help people protect themselves," says Daniela.
The University management immediately embraced the idea and gave the green light to the noble cause to be fulfilled, providing the necessary materials for making masks. Machines have been purchased, and the workspace has been reorganized. There are three sewing workshops. The production is sterilized at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and special packages are prepared containing four masks. They are distributed to the medical teams at UMHAT "St. Marina" - Varna and other medical establishments in the city.
To bring the ready-to-use masks to the medical staff, many other colleagues have been involved in the initiative, which further unites the team of the University, which wishes everyone to be healthy and not to stop doing good things.
