The specialty was opened in 2011 and the first class of medical cosmetologists graduated in the academic year 2013/2014. Since its establishment, over 300 cosmetologists have graduated with the "professional bachelor" qualification. The theoretical and practical training of students is conducted in modernly equipped lecture halls and practical rooms.
The curriculum, the curricula, as well as the teaching methods are updated periodically and are in line with the modern European requirements in higher education. The management of the Medical University and the Medical College stimulate the participation of students in research, publication and project activities, which is a prerequisite for their more in-depth preparation.
The interest in the specialty is also enhanced by the fact that 90% of graduates are successfully implemented in the labor market. There are opportunities to continue their studies in the master's programs of MU-Varna "Health Management and Medico-Social Care" and "Public Health Protection and Control", as well as in various courses for improving qualifications at the Medical University of Varna.
Research activity
The teachers and students of the Department of Medical Cosmetology participate in the Scientific and Practical Conference of the Medical College - Varna, as well as in other international and national scientific forums. For the period 2021-2024, teachers and students from the sector have taken part in six scientific and research projects and have produced over 35 publications.
