Educational and Scientific Sector of Pathophysiology
Educational and scientific sector (ESS) of Pathophysiology keeps the traditions of the Department of Pathophysiology. This is one of five departments which have laid the foundations of the Medical University of Varna in October 1961. The first Head of the Department of Pathophysiology is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zdravka Kemileva.
In her capacity as the Rector of the Medical University of Varna (1963-1966) Prof. Kemileva has special merits for the building and strengthening of the department and the newly opened Medical University - Varna. From 1971 to 1988, the Head of the Department was Prof. Dr. Ivan Popdimitrov. In the period 1989-2000, the Department was headed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Kozarev, and the Head of the ESS of Pathophysiology has Assoc. Prof. Kameliya Bratoeva, MD, PhD
