Dr. Anna Yotova, a renowned researcher and post-doctoral scientist at the University of California, Davis, the USA, will be a guest lecturer at MU-Varna on 29 April 2026 at 5:30 p.m. in Auditorium 1. She will deliver a public lecture titled “Of Mice and Men – Translational Psychiatry". The lecture will be held in English.
The event is organised under the project “MU-Varna: Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM)", under contract No. BG-RRP-2.004-0009-C02. The project is funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria under procedure No. BG-RRP-2.004 “Establishment of a Network of Research Higher Education Institutions in Bulgaria".
Anna Y. Yotova, MSc, PhD is a post-doctoral interdisciplinary Neuroscientist at UC Davis School of Medicine/MIND Institute (CA, USA), with a background in Neurobiology and specialised in Translational Psychiatry. She has extensive experience in behavioural, molecular, and morphological investigations of animal models of neurodevelopmental, psychiatric, and rare genetic disorders. Her previous and ongoing studies intersect with targets along important neuronal pathways in the brain, as well as environmental and genetic risk factors of autism spectrum disorders, among others.
