Team from the Faculty of Pharmacy at MU-Varna Conducted an Erasmus+ Mobility at Sts. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje

Prof. Svetlana Georgieva – Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at MU-Varna, Assoc. Prof. Galina Yaneva – Vice Dean for Research and Career Development, Chief Assist. Prof. Ivelin Iliev and Assist. Prof. Magdalena Pesheva paid a visit to the Faculty of Pharmacy at Sts. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje within the framework of Erasmus+ exchange programme between 18 and 22 November 2025. The representatives of the Faculty of Pharmacy were welcomed by Prof. Zoran Sterev – Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Sts. Cyril and Methodius University and Prof. Gyoshe Stefkov – Vice Dean for Science and International Cooperation.


Throughout the mobility period, Prof. Georgieva delivered a cycle of lectures on Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Assoc.Prof. Yaneva – on Pharmacogenomics.  Chief Assist. Prof. Ivelin Iliev introduced the students to drug therapy of the parasympathetic nervous system.  Assist. Prof. Magdalena Pesheva was trained to operate with specialised software for health system and health technology assessment.

 

Prof. Zoran Sterev, PhD – Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Prof. Gyoshe Stefkov, PhD – Vice Dean for Science and International Cooperation and the representatives of MU-Varna shared and discussed research priority areas on which both teams had been working, as well as collaboration opportunities. The lecturers from MU-Varna got acquainted with the training facilities at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Skopje and the opportunities for research and experimental work.

Furthermore, they were able to observe the GLP- and GMP-accredited new chromatographic laboratory, the pharmaceutical analysis laboratory, the drug technology laboratory with 3-D drug printing capabilities, the molecular biology and genetics laboratory equipped with gene sequencing and genetic testing equipment, and the pharmacoeconomic analysis laboratory. The Faculty also possesses a laboratory for drug monitoring in biological environments and individual therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) tests. During the exchange programme, the hosts also organised a visit to the production facilities of Replek Farm LTD dedicated to generic medicine manufacturing, and to the control and analytical laboratories there.​
