On 7 and 8 May, at the invitation of Medical University–Varna, the guest lecturer from Spain, Garikoitz Aristegui – a physiotherapist, clinician, researcher and internationally renowned trainer in the Rigo Concept for Treatment of Scoliosis, took part in the training of students in the programme of Kinesitherapy. Despite his intensive lecture and practical training schedule, Garikoitz Aristegui held a meeting with the Rector of Medical University–Varna Prof. Dr. Dimitar Raykov, the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Prof. Dr. Mario Milkov and the Head of the Department of Kinesitherapy Prof. Gergana Nenova, where the opportunities for cooperation and future joint initiatives were on the agenda.
During his visit, Garikoitz Aristegui also visited UMHAT "St. Marina"–Varna, where he had the opportunity to meet other specialists in the field of medicine.
Garikoitz Aristegui delivered lectures on topics that are part of the training curricula of the students in the programme of Kinesitherapy - EQD of Bachelor and EQD of Master, and in line with the strategic areas of the scientific activities of Medical University–Varna: Kyphosis and lordosis - functional analysis and kinesitherapy; Functional and structural scoliosis - functional analysis and kinesitherapy; Assessment and measurement of the spine; Kinesitherapy techniques for uncomplicated spinal fractures - goals and means of conservative treatment; Kinesitherapy techniques after surgical treatment of spinal fractures. The lectures were accompanied by practical demonstrations with real patients on the following topics: Specialised kinesitherapy techniques for spinal injuries and pathologies.

Business card: Garikoitz Aristegui is the Executive Director of the Rigo Concept BSPTS School in Spain, specialising in theoretical and practical training in scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis and other spinal pathologies. He holds a PhD in Preventive Medicine and Public Health from Basque Country University in Spain. He is an active member of the International Scientific Society on Scoliosis Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Treatment (SOSORT), and he was the host of 2022 SOSORT Congress in San Sebastian, Spain. He is a lecturer at Catalonia International University in Spain. Garikoitz Aristegui has acquired and developed his clinical and practical expertise at the Scoliosis & Posture Centre, San Sebastian, Spain. Since 2017 he has been an international trainer in the Rigo Concept, conducting courses in China, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Australia and plenty of other countries from different continents. He can boast an extremely extensive scientific output in the field of spinal pathology.
