MU-Varna Team Participated in the 18th European Public Health Conference in Helsinki

Lecturers from the Faculty of Public Health at Medical University–Varna participated in the 18th European Public Health Conference, which took place from 12 to 14 November in Helsinki, Finland. This year's edition of the forum was held under the motto “Investing for Sustainable Health and Well-Being" and brought together more than 3000 registered participants from different countries in Europe and worldwide, including professionals, lecturers, researchers and representatives of national and international institutions.

The representatives of MU-Varna participated in the scientific panels and poster sessions of the conference, presenting papers related to prevention of violence against health professionals and working environment safety in the sector, needs of families raising children with autism spectrum disorders, trust in healthcare institutions and its impact on health behaviour, challenges confronting child immunisation education and opportunities for improving vaccination practices, as well as research on regional differences in infant mortality in Bulgaria and support for mothers in the early post-neonatal period.



The Bulgarian researchers were highly appreciated by the organisers, and Bulgaria was honoured for its consistent presence and activities within the initiatives of the European Week of Public Health. The papers presented by the teams of MU-Varna highlighted the significant contribution of the University to key topics related to enhancement of modern policies and practices in the field of Public Health. 

The participation of three of the lecturers - Prof. Dr. Desislava Vankova, DSc, Asst. Prof. Nadezhda Mihaylova, PhD and Asst. Prof. Svetlana Panayotova, PhD, was implemented under project No BG-RRP-2.004-0009-C02 “MU-Varna: Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM)", funded by the European Union–NextGenerationEU, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria.
