The national competition “The Doctor in 2050" is an initiative targeted at Bulgarian and foreign medical students, medical residents, and young doctors up to 35 years of age. The aim of the competition is to encourage young people in medicine to present their vision of what a doctor in Bulgaria will be like in the middle of the 21st century. The competition is organised by CredoWeb, with the support of the Association of Medical Universities in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Medical Association. The initiative places emphasis on the creativity of future and young physicians, challenging them to think not only about the present but also about the development of their profession over the following 25 years.
Participants may submit their entries in a freely chosen format—essay, short story, video, infographic, post, or another original piece. Bulgarian participants must submit their work in Bulgarian, while international students – in English. All submitted materials will be evaluated by a prestigious jury comprising representatives from the Association of Medical Universities in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Hospital Association, and CredoWeb.
The deadline for participation is 31 July 2026, and materials should be submitted via email to konkurs@credoweb.bg.
The award for the best work by a medical student is a one-year scholarship of 500 euros per month. The award for a medical resident or young physician (up to 35 years of age) is participation in ICoMedS 2027 – the International Congress on Medicine & Science in Prague, with full access to the Congress and coverage of travel and accommodation expenses. In addition to the jury awards, a “People's Favourite" will also be selected through voting. Additional prizes will be provided by the Association of Medical Universities in Bulgaria and individual medical universities.
