The European Night of Museums is organised under the patronage of the Council of Europe, UNESCO and the International Council of Museums (ICOM). The initiative belongs to the French Ministry of Culture and has existed since 2005. Over the years, it has established itself as the most significant Pan-European museum event. It involves more than 4 000 museums and galleries from 40 European countries. Bulgaria is among the first countries that most actively have responded to the initiative. Museums and galleries traditionally open their doors to visitors, offering both free viewing of permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as a variety of events specially organised for the Night of the Museums.
The objectives of the event are to emphasise the important role of museums in the development of the society, to offer a new perspective on exhibitions, to provide equal access to museums and cultural events held in them for disadvantaged people and to make informal contact with the audience.
Welcome to the Museum of the History of Medicine on 13 May 2023 in order to share moments of discovery and trace down the path of medicine from ancient times to the present, together with your families and friends!
