Diplomas for academic positions and
acquired scientific degrees for the first half of the year were awarded at a
solemn Academic Council meeting at MU - Varna on 20 May.The
Rector Prof. Dr. Valentin Ignatov awarded the diplomas at an
official ceremony at the First Auditorium of the University in the presence of

The Vice-Rector for Career Development Prof. Dr. Svetoslav Georgiev opened the ceremony with the words, "On the eve of the brightest holiday – the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture and the Slavic Literature, and in the year when we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Medical University – Varna, we have come together to award the diplomas for academic positions and acquired scientific degrees to our colleagues. Despite the hard times caused by the crisis COVID-19, Medical University – Varna keeps on pursuing its mission – to stimulate the academic community towards high professionalism and contribution to academic, scientific and research activities and to provide knowledge to young colleagues."

A total of 45 people
received their diplomas. Two of them are lecturers who have defended the
academic position of "Professor", three – "Associate Professor" and 15
– "Chief Assistant Professor". 25 people were awarded the educational
and scientific degree "Doctor".
