More than 1 600 Patients Passed through the Emergency Rooms of UMHAT "St. Marina” – Varna during the Holidays

 537 hospitalised fellow citizens welcomed the Christmas and New Year holidays at UMHAT “Saint Marina” EAD – Varna.
Another increase in the incidence of COVID – 19 was observed and, as of 08.00 am on 6 January 2022, the total number of patients with coronavirus infection in the hospital is 161, 17 of whom have been admitted to intensive care units.
Despite the increasing pressure, UMHAT "St. Marina" EAD – Varna continues to provide everything necessary for the treatment of patients, providing full admission to all those in need. From 22 December 2021 to 6 January 2022 at |UMHAT "St. Marina" – Varna, a total number of 157 urgent surgical interventions were performed, of which – 32 orthopaedic, 30 surgical, 27 urological, 13 neurosurgical, etc. Diagnostic and treatment procedures with highly specialised, unique to the region equipment in the field of orthopaedics, urology, abdominal surgery, radiotherapy, clinical and immunological laboratory, diagnostic imaging, stem cell transplantation are carried out at the hospital.
 Between 22 December 2021 – 6 January 2022, a total number of 1 665 examinations, of which – 540 of paediatric patients, were performed at the reception rooms of the Multi-Profile Emergency Department – children and adults at both infectious clinics.
787 employees were on duty at the hospital during the holidays and weekends from 23 December 2021 to 31 December 2021 in order to provide patients with the necessary hospital medical care.
