Neurologists from UMHAT “St. Marina" participated in the XI National Congress of Neurosonology and Brain Hemodynamics, which took place on 21-22 November 2025 in Sofia. The annual reporting and election meeting of the Society of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics was also held within the framework of the Congress, at which a new Management Board was elected consisting of five specialists from leading medical institutions in the country, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Michael Tsalta, PhD – Head of the Department for Treatment of Acute Brain Strokes at Second Clinic of Neurology at UMHAT “St. Marina" – Varna. This is a recognition of the active contribution of the medical institution to the development of modern diagnostic and research approaches in the field of Neurosonology and Brain Hemodynamics in the country.
The anniversary event marked 20 years of the establishment of the Bulgarian Society of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics (BSNCH). The Society is an active member of the European Society of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics (ESNCH) and of the Neurosonology Speciality Group of the World Federation of Neurology, and it operates in line with the latest trends and achievements in the field of Neurosonology.
The Congress is a leading multidisciplinary event with international participation dedicated to the latest advances in Neurosonology. During the forum, renowned specialists from the country and abroad presented current topics focused on innovations in vascular ultrasound, assessment of cerebral hemodynamics and modern methods of diagnosis and monitoring in Neurosonology.
The event incorporated plenary sessions, practical seminars and poster presentations and provided an opportunity for exchange of professional experience among experts from various specialities, including Neurology, Angiology, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, Neuroradiology and Neurorehabilitation.
