On 16 May, the Conference Centre of the Rosslyn Dimyat Hotel Varna hosts a scientific and practical conference entitled “Challenges and Emergencies in Modern Ophthalmology – Expert Practices and Guidelines for Scientific Development". The event is organised by the team of Scientific Group 3.2.1 “Artificial Cornea – from the Bench to the Bedside and Back", under project No. BG-RRP-2.004-0009-C02 “Medical University–Varna: Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM)", funded by the European Union–NextGenerationEU, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The team of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at MU-Varna, in collaboration with the University Specialised Eye Hospital – Varna, would like to invite you to take part in the event. Guest-lecturers will be prominent specialists from Switzerland, Spain, Georgia, and Bulgaria. They are going to share expert practices and clinical expertise in sessions focusing on the regeneration of the anterior ocular surface, retina, and Neuro-Ophthalmology and eye injuries.

The event is intended for residents and young specialists in Ophthalmology, as well as everyone who would like to enhance his or her professional competence through the exchange of knowledge and expertise.

Within the scientific programme of the conference, the organisers provide young doctors and Ophthalmology residents with the opportunity to contribute to the event with poster presentations.
Following a competitive selection procedure, the presenting authors of the ten highest-rated poster abstracts will be provided with free accommodation at the conference hotel.

For participation with a poster presented within five minutes in the scientific programme, please submit your application and abstract for approval in Bulgarian and English to the following e-mail address: eyeconference@mu-varna.bg

Guidelines for Authors
- Abstracts must be submitted in Bulgarian and English.
- Abstracts must not exceed 200 words; Arial font with 1.5 spacing and 12 pt font size.
- The title must be written in capital letters, without abbreviations.
- The maximum number of participants in the author team must not exceed four authors.
- It is mandatory to indicate a corresponding author in the text by e-mail and contact details – clinic, hospital, postal code, city, country, e-mail, telephone.
- It is mandatory to write the exact names of the institutions where each of the authors works in the following order: university, clinic, hospital, city, country.
- When using abbreviated words in the text, use the full name the first time they appear, followed by the standard abbreviation in parentheses.
- Please indicate the person who will present the poster.
All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee, after which you will be notified of the status of your participation.
The authors of the approved abstracts will receive feedback from us at the email address they have provided.
