The Ministry of Education and Science adopted the report on the implementation of the development policy of Medical University - Varna and gave an excellent annual score of 3.98 out of a maximum of 4.00 on the management contract of the Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Raykov for the first year of his management.
Since 2020 all state higher education institutions in Bulgaria have been implementing specific policies approved by the Minister of Education and Science with a management contract of goals, objectives and targets for the respective year. The policy of Medical University - Varna is targeted at working on 50 indicators for 18 tasks in six core objectives: 1. Relevance, compliance, integrity of acquired knowledge and skills; 2. Increasing the quality of training programmes through the use of educational forms, methods and technologies tailored to the specifics of the generation of students being educated; 3. Connectivity and partnership; 4. Research development; 5. Attracting and retaining young faculty; 6. Public commitments of national significance.
The success rate in fulfilling all the set criteria has been evaluated with an annual score of 3.98 out of a maximum of 4.00, which indicates that the work and efforts of the teams in the directions of digitalization, development of university networks, participation in clusters, creation of partnerships, active project activities, community-oriented broadcasts - shows, interviews, popular science films, etc. have received maximum marks.
MU-Varna has also received excellent marks over the previous two years – for the period 2021-2022 - 3.91 and for the period 2022-2023 – 3.86. The current score of 3.98 is a sign that the team of Prof. Dr. Dimitar Raykov continues the lasting trend of development of MU-Varna in line with all the requirements for training students at the highest European level.
