First-Year Students from the English-Language Training Programme Had a Language Practice in Bulgarian Published 05/13/2024 Page ContentOnce again, the first-year students of Medicine and Dental Medicine, English-Language Training at Medical University-Varna, took part in the traditional annual language practice. During their three-day trip (12-14 April 2024), they got acquainted with part of the Bulgarian cultural and historical heritage and had the opportunity to practise the Bulgarian language and taste the traditional Bulgarian food.The international students visited the Museum of Roses in Kazanlak, the Ancient Theatre and the Old Town in Plovdiv, the Roman Baths in Hisarya, enjoyed the street graphic art in the small village of Staro Zhelezare. At the end of the trip, the students were impressed by the majestic views of the Eastern Rhodopes, the beauty of the Perperikon Stone Complex and the medieval monastery "Saint John the Forerunner" in Kardzhali.The lecturers leading the language practice were Prof. Lubomir Makedonski, academic coordinator of the English-Language Training Programme, and the Bulgarian language lecturers Daniela Tancheva and Yordan Rachev from the Department of Slavic Languages and Communications.
