Prof. Dr. Yavor Enchev, Head of the Neurosurgery Clinic at UMHAT "St. Marina" - Varna and Head of the Department of Neurosurgery and ENT Diseases at Medical University - Varna, was unanimously elected President of the Bulgarian Society of Neurosurgery during the 32nd National Conference on Neurosurgery, held on 10-12 October 2025 in Kazanlak. He succeeded Cor. Mem. Prof. Nikolay Gabrovski from the University Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment and Emergency Medicine (UMHATEM) "N.I.Pirogov" - Sofia in the position.
Prof. Yavor Enchev, acknowledging the significant achievements of the previous management, placed continuity and unity within the community as key factors for achieving the goals of the Society. He outlined the stimulation of scientific research in the field of Neurosurgery, the improvement of the financial security of Neurosurgery care in the country, as well as some organisational and ethical issues as major priorities.
