Innovative and unique vestibular rehabilitation equipment was delivered and installed at Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov"–Varna under the project "Enhancement of Translational Excellence Achievement in Medicine (MUVE-TEAM)", No BG-RRP-2.004-0009-C02, funded by the EU–NextGenerationEU.
Virtualis vestibular rehabilitation system offers a wide scope of exercises. The patient is "immersed" in virtual reality, where training exercises are used to train the vestibular functions and restore the impaired balance and quality of life of the affected patients. Personalized and telemedicine options are available as well. In each training session, a number of exercises can be selected by setting their duration and the pause between them. At any given time, the patient on the platform, part of the system, is secured to eliminate the risk of falling.
The invited guest lecturer Eng. Joachim Hugard made a presentation and introduced the therapeutic possibilities of the system to undergraduate, doctoral, postgraduate students, young and well-established scientists at Medical University - Varna.
