"Determination of total and free testosterone in serum and saliva in patients having obstructive sleep apnea"

Project leader: Assoc. Prof. Diana Petkova, MD, PhD  and  Yana Bocheva, PhD

The project aimed:

1.         Validation of: reference method for determining total testosterone (tt); immunoassay for determining of  free testosterone (ft) in men and tt in women and children; a protocol for deliverind an utrafiltrate and saliva for ft determinaing.

2.         Making a reference range for ft in saliva.

3.         Evaluating of: hipothetic hypogadism in in patients having obstructive sleep apnea(osa); the effect of treatment upon the levels of tt and ft in serum and saliva; correlation between the levels of ft in saliva and serum.
