The Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) provides support to employers and funding organizations for researchers in the practical application of the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Selection of Scientists. It is a step-by-step process that enables organizations to actually integrate these principles into their own human resources policies. The aim is to promote attractive research careers and to improve working and employment conditions for researchers across Europe.
The HR Excellence in Research logo is an award that identifies institutions and organizations as providers and supporters of a stimulating and supportive work environment or as a funding institution that promotes the provision of such an enabling environment through its funding rules.
In 2021 MUV initiated the application process to be awarded the HR Excellence in Research Logo. During the application process, MUV endorsed the Charter and Code principles, undertook steps to adapt MUV internal HR policy to the new European Research Area policy in order to ensure that MUV is committed to fair, open, inclusive and equal opportunities for the career development paths of all MUV researchers. The questionnaire survey was carried out in 2021 that allowed us to generate fair and objective GAP and OTM-R Analyses identifying our weaknesses and strengths and set an Action plan with specific to MUV areas for improvement and priority actions.
On the 5th of May 2022 the European Commission approved the OTM-R and Action plan and awarded MUV the HR Excellence in Research Logo with a review on the progress of the Action Plan in June 2024.
